The World’s End – Odean, Bristol

As an avid Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright fan I was of course very much looking forward to seeing this film.

Although it was funny, over all I was a little disappointed by the lack of creativity when it came to content, and good one-liners.

I wouldn’t ever expect a wildly complicated story line, however there was a very sombre and sad moment along side the ridiculousness of the  Sci-Fi story it just seemed cheap and pointless. The characters also seemed a little under developed, and like ‘stock’ characters from each actors core repertoire.

The setting however, and Britishness of the characters is always welcome in the cinema as far as I am concerned. It is worth watching for those out there who are also fans of other films such as Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, but possibly not in the cinema. I am also sure that with more viewings I will appreciate the smaller details (such as one of the pub signs for the Kings Head in the film has Simon Pegg as a King as the picture).
